Alright.

Now I’m not saying SCV is the greatest city in the world, by any means. But people need to seriously reconsider a lot about SCV.

First, many of the kids in my generation I find complain

“Oh, there’s nothing to do here, SCV is boring.”

“I hate the people here, everyone is fake”

“I can’t believe that everything closes at 8”

blah blah blah on and on and on

Secondly, everyone who complains, is still living in SCV

Explain that one to me please, and no, don’t tell me

“I stayed in SCV to go to COC for a cheap education and hopefully get into real college later”

You know full damn well that YOU have the potential, grades, and capability to apply for scholarships to “real” colleges. I know you guys, a lot of you guys and you are far smarter than COC standards.
You also are getting fucked over because COC is overcrowded and can’t get you into the classes you need to finish your two years, which then becomes 3 or 4…or in my friend’s case 6.

Third, it always surprises me when people complain about SCV, when they haven’t been anywhere else besides LA.

If you haven’t been anywhere else besides LA, not including family outings to random food places you should have no place talking about SCV.

Let’s be clear, the only reason LA has things open past 8 is because they have nightlife culture, AKA a redlight district, clubs, and all sorts of crap like that.

Also, try walking the avenue of the stars, 85% of those shops and stores are closed at 9. It’s not much different.

If you guys have been to maybe, Santa Monica, Long Beach, or out of country for that matter, you would realize that almost every city closes up most of their stores before 9. In Europe physically, for the most part, all of their shops close at 6. With a long ass lunch from 11-2

Now. Consider this,

Did you SCV peeps know, Santa Clarita used to be one of the top ten safest cities in the California State, and top 100 of the world? Back inĀ  90’s, we were a great place to live, and still are amazingly.

Did you SCV peeps know that Santa Clarita has so much more to offer than most cities, in a smaller geographical area than most cities? Take for instance, from Magic Mountain to the Mall you drive maybe 5-10 minutes. We Have a fucking theme park in our city, that hundreds of tourists come to everyday. We have numerous stores, devoted to outdoors, indoor games, sex shops, bowling alleys and free sample markets!

Hello, how many Canyon country people can say they know what is in Newhall? It’s practically over the hill from Canyon Country, yet hardly anyone ever goes there. You realize Newhall was the first commercialized area of the Santa Clarita Valley? Think about that, you may never have been to parts of your city that you hate so much, maybe you’ll find something you actually like.

I hear people saying people in santa clarita are fake. This is true EVERYWHERE. There are also plenty of REAL people all over the world, and in Santa Clarita. I make a point, a principle of being “real” with everyone I meet no matter how hard it is. But you know what, you’re just unfortunate enough to come across those “fake” people, it has nothing to do with the size of the city or the type of people within the city. That just so happens to be the people you come into contact with, hell if you really want to not meet people like that ever, you should just live in your home. And the bonus of that is you never have to complain about SCV again because you won’t be a part of it! D=

Let’s face it kids. You are in Santa Clarita because You CHOSE To Be There. You had infinite opportunities to move out, live some where else, go to “real” college, or just plain start a new life for yourself, but the sad fact is you are in that position you are in, that is stuck in Santa Clarita taking classes at COC, because you were too afraid of change. Too attached to things in Santa Clarita (a relationship perhaps)

Yeah, those things may be gone now. You may find yourself a new person altogether. The tools to move on, and move out are all right before you, take some initiative.

Like I said, SCV isn’t an especially special place at all.

but it’s home, and you sure as hell know it.

Quit Bitching.
